No. TabTribe tracks who owes what and records settlement status. It does not process payments or hold funds. Use your preferred payment app — Venmo, PayPal, Cash App — and then mark it as settled in TabTribe.
QDoes TabTribe upload my receipts?
Receipt images stay on your device by default. When you join a shared trip, TabTribe may sync structured expense and item data — like line items and amounts — so trip members can see the same bill. The photo itself is never uploaded without your action.
QWhy does the total differ by one cent?
TabTribe uses integer-cent arithmetic to avoid floating point errors, and then reconciles any penny differences so the sum of all assigned shares always matches the expense total exactly. If you spot a mismatch, please email us.
QCan I use TabTribe without an account?
Yes — local trip splitting works entirely without an account. You only need an account to invite other people to a shared trip or to sync expenses across devices.
QHow do I delete my account?
Email support@tabtribe.app and we'll remove your account and personal data within 48 hours. Shared trip data that other members depend on is anonymised rather than deleted outright.
QWhich currencies does TabTribe support?
TabTribe supports all major world currencies with real-time conversion rates. You can set a home currency per trip and see all expenses converted automatically.
QWhat happens if someone in my group doesn't have the app?
You can still add them as a participant manually. Send them an invite link and they can view the trip on the web without downloading anything. They'll need the app to interact with expenses directly.
